I heard you always wanted to write a book? What are you doing about it?
I heard you always wanted to write a book? What are you doing about it?
Let me guess, you have a great idea for a book and you're excited about it? Well that's wonderful! But have you made next steps towards walking in your journey? If not, it's time for you to begin! Let's talk about a strategy that can help you get started!
In my new book, "Write That Book And Make That Money; Strategies for the Hungry Author" I speak on a topic that I like to call the 3 phases of writing. The three phases are the Title, the Story and the Ending. Each tier doesn't necessarily have to be addressed in any particular order but they must be addressed for the completion of your writing process. Your title is what draws readers to your book, your story is what keeps them reading and the impact of your ending should make return-readers and hopefully, fans for life!
Please understand that if you want to write a book and you are not working on any of these phases, you're allowing your lack of direction to seize your creativity. Just because you're unsure of what to title your story, doesn't mean that you can't approach another one of the writing phases. You can always approach another phase later, as long as you are working on one of them, you are on your way!
Take me for example, I always write my endings first. This has been my approach in every book that I've written and it works for me. It helps me to draw my narrative toward an already thought out conclusion. Soon you'll identify your own writing strengths and carve out your own method to approaching each writing phase organically. Once you address and complete all three phases, you'd be surprised how quickly you will have a finished manuscript. Until then, no one can read that unwritten book you have shelved in your head. Remember, your book is your reflection, your legacy. Pull out that writing sauce and start working on finishing your book today!
